The last meal you’ll ever need, unlocked: Katsu chicken burgers with Heinz Street Style Sauces. Insanely crispy katsu fried chicken, buttery grilled brioche buns and refreshing shredded lettuce, combined with a delicious mixture of sauce, these easy burgers are one to try (then make again and again).

Ingredients

  • 2 chicken breasts
  • 2 cups plain flour
  • 4 eggs, beaten with 2 tbsp milk or water
  • 2 cups panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 cups vegetable oil
  • 30ml Heinz Street Food Korean Style Sauce
  • 30ml Heinz Street Food Roasted Garlic Sauce
  • 4 brioche burger buns
  • Butter for the buns, at room temperature
  • Finely sliced iceberg lettuce

Makes 4 burgers

Method

  1. Cover each chicken breast with cling wrap and gently pound with a rolling pin to flatten to an even 1cm thickness, then cut in 2, so you have four pieces.
  2. Dust chicken in flour, then coat in egg wash, then breadcrumbs. Repeat for a double crust. Shake off any excess and set aside.
  3. Combine both @heinz_au Street Food Sauces in a bowl. Set aside.
  4. Heat vegetable oil over medium high in a large frying pan.
  5. Once the oil is shimmering, add chicken in batches, frying each side until golden (around 3 minutes on each side). Season chicken with salt flakes and drain on a paper towel.
  6. Heat another large frying pan or grill over medium high.
  7. Spread butter evenly on the inside of each burger bun, then grill until a golden crust has formed.
  8. Spread @heinz_au Street Food Sauces mix over the buttered side of each bun. Add chicken, lettuce, a sprinkle of salt, brioche tops and serve immediately.
